Getting Started
Destination Carolina Rentals, LLC is designed for travelers visiting North and South Carolina for vacation or business or staying long-term to help them find the special home appropriate for their needs. Our easy-to-navigate Web site divides the Carolinas into nine areas. You may search within a region, by ZIP code or by town, and, within a region, you may search by price and bedrooms.
Once you have found properties that meet your interests, you may send inquires to the property owners via e-mail or, in most cases, call the property owner directly. You should check the calendar for availability prior to your inquiry. The pricing of each property is set by the property owner and is included in their listing.
Most property owners will respond to you within 24 hours; however that is not always the case. Feel free to send a second inquiry! Again, inquiring to more than one property is commonplace.

Rental Contracts
Once you have made a firm commitment with a traveler, most property owners will either email or send a contract. There is a sample contract on the Website Concierge Information Page (accessible to property owners who have listed with Destination Carolina Rentals, LLC). You should check this contract carefully to confirm that it is what you had previously discussed. It is common to ask for half of the payment upon booking and the other half 30 days prior to your arrival. In the case of a last minute booking, collection of payment should be cashier’s check, money order, credit card or PayPal (coming soon). It is not recommended to accept a personal check unless you have 30 days clearing time.
Pricing
Destination Carolina Rentals, LLC does not set pricing for the property owners. Property owners set their own price based on the time of year and their rental market.
Security Deposit
It is customary for property owners to require a security deposit. A security deposit refund policy should be clearly stated on the rental contract.
Tax Payments
Many local taxing authorities require property owners to collect tax payments for vacation rental properties. Should this be the case, it is the responsibility of the property owner to identify and collect that tax payment.
Refund/Cancellation Policy
Be sure that the owner's individually set refund policy is clearly stated on your rental contract and that you have discussed this with the property owner prior to signing the contract.
Payment
The preferred way of collecting payment by the property owner would be money order, cashier’s check or, if time allows, personal check (30 days).

Protecting Yourself
As a renter, you must take time to carefully consider the information you have been given by the property owner, including details about the property and the rental contract. If Destination Carolina Rentals receives any complaint regarding a listing on our Web site, we will investigate the issue thoroughly. If deemed necessary, we will remove a listing from our Web site in which the owner has not demonstrated proper resolution of the problem. Lastly, in the event it is necessary, we will contact the proper authorities if the case warrants it.
